- Quick Cuts are used to convey a lot of information very quickly, or too imply either energy or chaos.

 - Low-key lighting creates a mystery as in thrillers sometimes the dark is what to fear therefore the light source is fairly importance for the protagonist. 

 - Night time is used to create shadows through artificial light. Shadows create mystery and unnerve the audience through the unknown of the darkness. 

 - Suspense ​is something used in almost all thriller films and can be made by different sounds, fast pace music and silence.
